The RASEN consortium

The RASEN consortium consists of partners from four European countries: Germany, Norway, France, and Romania. The partners fill one or more of three possible roles in the RASEN project:

  • Research Partner (e.g. universities and research institutes)
  • Technology Providers (e.g. tool vendors)
  • Use Case Providers (e.g. large companies or SME’s)
  • The research partners and technology providers have background in the research fields of testing, risk assessment and law. In particular, Fraunhofer has a strong expertise with regards to model-based testing. SINTEF has strong experience with risk assessment (e.g. the CORAS risk assessment method), while the participants from UiO (NRCCL) have a law background and particular experience with legal risk management. As technology provider, Smartesting has strong competences in the area of model-based testing and will use the RASEN project to improve their model-based testing tool CertifyIt, while Software AG will provide the ARIS risk assessment tool as input to the project.

RASEN

The RASEN project’s main objective is the strengthening of European organisations’ ability to conduct security assessments of large scale networked systems through the combination of security risk assessment and security testing, taking into account the context in which the system is used, such as liability, legal and organisational issues as well as technical issues.
